Cricket Clubs

Since April 2010, Sheraz Khan and Maruf Ahmed have been leading the planning, development & management of Cricket Clubs which started with 14 young people with interests, ambitions, and passion for Cricket.  

  • The clubs are run by 7 Sports Volunteers and 2 Qualified Coaches delivering weekly training sessions with attendance of 27 young people aged 14-30. 

  • The Urban United Cricket Club was affiliated to the Birmingham Cricket League: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwqpUfnHYmU 

  • The clubs also help filter players to play for clubs in recognised cricket  leagues and work experience volunteers are trained to gain qualification to develop a sporting career. 

  • The Urban Cricket Club has partnered up with the Healthy  Employment Hub in Sandwell to deliver skills and training workshops for young people.
     
  • The Club has so far participated in over 10 cricket competitions across the West Midland region.
