Making basketball more fun

Welcome

The initial concept of Sports2WORK was discovered from the discussions held with a group of young people on 18th April 2010 when it was realised that in deprived neighbourhoods there are two things that are most in common; the passion for Sports and Worklessness.

Introduced in 2010, Sports2Work aims to transform young people’s passion for sports into skills and qualifications needed to take advantage of employment opportunities.

When it comes to explaining the meaning of Sports2Work there are two key themes; participation in sports to stay physically and mentally active; and career development as sportsperson, coach; journalist or marketing.

Since its inception, Sports2Work has been delivering its objectives through volunteers with support from partner organisations involving the Ileys Community Association, Bangladeshi Women’s Association, Bangladeshi Regeneration Council and various other community organisations.

Anam Choudhury is the founder and the Chairman of the Sports2work. Anam believes firmly that participating in sports offers a wealth of skills that are valuable both on and off the field. These skills include leadership, teamwork, resilience, and time management, among others. Anam’s dedication to helping young people transition from sports to successful careers showcases his passion for transforming sports skills into employment opportunities. These skills are not only beneficial in sports but also highly transferable to various aspects of life, including education, work, and personal relationships.
